How late can you book a newborn photoshoot?
For classic newborn photographs, I usually recommend a session within the first two weeks after birth. This is a guideline, not a deadline. We can still take beautiful photographs of your baby later on. Here is how we plan the timing of your newborn session in Munich.
When we can photograph your baby
The first two weeks
During this time, I like to plan peaceful photographs of your baby and small details such as hands and feet. However, the session depends on your baby. Your baby does not need to sleep throughout.
Your baby sets the pace
During the photographs, we see which positions suit your baby. If your baby is hungry, needs closeness or needs changing, we take a break. Feeling comfortable at the session matters more than any particular photograph.

If your baby is already older
Photographs in weeks three and four
Did you need the first two weeks to settle in? You are still very welcome to get in touch. We adapt the photographs to your baby. We can capture sleeping and awake moments, on their own or in your arms.
Baby photographs in the second month
A baby session is also possible in the second month. We plan different photographs from those of a very young newborn. Awake moments and photographs together with you as parents can play a bigger part.

How we plan your appointment
Enquire during pregnancy
You are welcome to contact me with your due date. We discuss your wishes and initially plan around that date. We agree the specific session date after your baby is born.
Confirming the date after birth
Let me know when your baby has arrived and you have an idea of when an appointment would suit you. If parents or siblings are to join the photographs, we plan this from the start. We agree the scope and any additional costs beforehand.
Your session in Munich’s Westend
What to expect in the studio
My natural-light studio is at Heimeranstraße 66 in Schwanthalerhöhe. It has simple backgrounds, baby clothing and selected accessories. You can take a look at the rooms on my studio page before your visit.
Time to settle in and take breaks
We plan around two hours for the session. You can take your time bottle-feeding, breastfeeding or changing your baby beforehand. Then we decide which photographs to start with. Breaks are part of the appointment.

The look of your baby photographs
My photographs are light, with soft colours and simple backgrounds. I work mainly with natural light. The photographs should show your baby just as you know them. Read more about me and my approach on the About me page.
If you need more time
An appointment for a baby born prematurely
For a baby born prematurely, we plan without a fixed age limit. Get in touch when you feel a session might be possible. We agree the date with you and take into account what you have discussed with your care team.
It is still worth enquiring later
You do not need to put yourself under time pressure for newborn photographs. If the first weeks go differently from your plans, we can take photographs later. Tell me how old your baby is and which photographs you would like. Together, we will work out what suits you.
Preparing for your session
What to bring
Pack your usual changing and feeding essentials and a change of clothes. If you would like something personal in the photographs, feel free to bring it or discuss it with me beforehand.
Clothing for parents and siblings
Comfortable, plain clothing in similar tones creates a calm look in group photographs. If older siblings are coming, tell them about the session beforehand. Another familiar person can help if the older children need a break. We will plan this with you in advance.
How you receive your photographs
After the session, I put together a selection in a protected online gallery. You choose the photographs for your package. I then edit and gently retouch these images. You receive digital files and prints according to your chosen offer. You can find the packages and total prices on the newborn photography page.
More answers about preparation, rescheduling and choosing your photographs are available in the frequently asked questions.

Enquire about your baby’s session
Tell me your due date or your baby’s age. I will help you plan and answer your questions. You can find my studio here.
