Natural nursery photography in and around Munich

I’m Anna Hausner and I have been photographing in Munich’s nurseries and childcare centres for many years. Together with the management and parents’ committee, I plan a photography day that fits the nursery’s routine.

I prefer to photograph the children outside in their familiar garden. I take time to get to know them and respond to each child individually. A smile does not have to happen on command.

For the Christmas season, photographs with a festive set are also possible. We will discuss the design before the appointment.

How the photography day works

The children come to me in small groups so that they do not have to wait long. In the garden, we separate the photography area from the play area. A familiar member of staff should be present. If the nursery has no garden, we discuss a suitable location nearby. Friendship and sibling photographs can be planned by arrangement.

The photography day usually starts at around 9 am after breakfast. We agree the exact times with the management and take the children’s meal and nap times into account.

I usually photograph younger nursery children in the morning. After-school club children and siblings from outside the nursery can join in the afternoon by arrangement. Together, we decide when each group will be photographed.

Alongside individual portraits, we take group photographs of the nursery groups. We can plan a separate leaving photograph for children about to start school. Only children with parental consent are photographed.

When to plan your photography day

April to August are good months for garden photographs. We usually plan Christmas photographs in October or November. Please get in touch early, especially if the photographs need to be ready before the older children leave for school.

Bright sunshine is not essential for beautiful garden photographs. Persistent rain does require an alternative, however, so we also agree a backup date when you book.
